Cirque du Soleil returns to PortAventura for summer 2015 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the resort, presenting for the first time in a European holiday space their new show Amaluna, an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon. The show tells an epic and emotional story of love that will envelop spectators in a blaze of colour, music, lighting, characters and unique sets…witness the love between the daughter of Queen Prospera and a brave young suitor who is brought to the island by a storm. The pair must face demanding trials before they can achieve mutual harmony. A unique story interpreted by the highly-talented artists of the Canadian Company and with all the spectacular features that characterise the great works of Cirque du Soleil.

The show:

Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon.

Their queen, Prospera, directs her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony in a rite that honours femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance which marks the passing of these insights and values from one generation to the next.

In the wake of a storm caused by Prospera, a group of young men lands on the island, triggering an epic, emotional story of love between Prospera’s daughter and a brave young suitor. But theirs is a love that will be put to the test. The couple must face numerous demanding trials and overcome daunting setbacks before they can achieve mutual trust, faith and harmony.
